INVESTOR OF THE YEAR AWARD LAURETS 2009

Croatian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy, Labor and Entrepreneurship have organized second Investor of the year 2009 Award ceremony, together with the conference “Attracting new direct investments - opportunities and models”. The Award Ceremony and the Conference were organized under the patronage of the Croatian Government.

Ceremony that has been held on Monday, 19th of October 2009, at the Cristal Room in the hotel “Westin”, Zagreb, gathered 200 participants, among others domestic and foreign investors, representatives of all relevant government, national, regional, local, self-government and other institutions (development agencies, business and industrial centers etc) as well as foreign diplomats in Croatia, representatives of foreign Chambers of Commerce and economic representatives.

Opening speech, beside managing director of the Trade and Investment promotion Agency Mr. Sani Ljubunčić has and the Prime minister of the Croatian Government Mrs. Jadranka Kosor. In her address to the public she gave full support to the event and award ceremony, as well as present and future activities of Trade and Investment Promotion Agency. Also, she stress out that we have to work together as one in order to make Croatian economy more attractive and to become a member of 30 most attractive locations for foreign direct investments.

Besides presenting attractive business zones, Mr. Sani Ljubunčić, managing director of the Trade and Investment Promotion Agency presented and some of new models for attracting new direct investments like revitalization of state property in order to achieve sustainable and efficient land use. Also, new opportunity for investments was presented like innovation - technology center Međimurje and Croatian and Norway joint project Maritime innovation center iNavis.
